What is bleed and fine-tuning? |
You can use a bleedAn effect created when a picture element overlaps a border edge. for printing multiple picturesGeneral term that includes photos, graphics, clip art, and objects. Any photo or project in this product. on one page. When you use a bleed, your pictures fill the paper so that no unwanted white will appear around the edges. For example, when you print a sheet of labels, use a bleed to make each picture spill over the edges of the label. Then, when an individual label is removed from the sheet, it is entirely covered by the picture.
To set bleed and fine-tuning preferences:
- Set the bleed.
You can set vertical and horizontal values for how much each picture will spill over its boundary.

On the File menu, point to Print Special, and then click one of the following:

Labels or Special Paper

Multi-photo Sheet

Select a printer and printer settings, and then click Next.

Select a template, and then click View advanced options.

Select the Bleed edges check box.

Enter values in the Vertical and Horizontal boxes.

Click the back arrow, and then click Next.

To continue printing, follow the instructions on the screen.

Use the fine-tuning settings when your printer does not align the pictures correctly on the multiple-photo paper. You can fine-tune the vertical and horizontal alignment settings to shift each picture to line up with the paper.

- To retain fine-tuning settings for the next time you print on multiple-photo paper, select the Save fine tuning check box.

Notes

If the type of paper you are printing on does not have space for a bleed, either the vertical or horizontal edit boxes may be dimmed.

Since most printers cannot print to the edge of a page, bleed and fine-tuning settings are available for printing multiple pictures only.
