Tips & Tricks
- If you are replacing a file, you should always create a backup. This backup should have
the extension "XSB" because files with this extension are displayed as
"Xteq Systems X-Setup Backup File".
- When you click a plug-in inside X-Setup, it is always loaded from disc. This way, a
normal debuging-session works like this:
- saving the file inside the Plug-in Editor
- switching to X-Setup and activating your plug-in
- testing it
- selecting another plug-in so yours is removed from memory
- switching back to the Plug-in Editor and perform changes
- (start again)
- If you change the UI Path of your plug-in or if you are creating a new plug-in while
X-Setup is running, X-Setup will not display the new plug-in or display an incorrect UI
Path. In this case, press the F5 key inside X-Setup.
- It's good practice to include the version of your plug-in and a contact address in the
comments. The version helps the user to determine which version is installed and the
contact address helps us, because if no contact address is specified, every question about
the plug-in will be sent to info@xteq.com.
- The text, comment and other text lines of a Plug-in or Wizard will be extended to 20
lines in X-Setup 4.1 (before: 5 lines)
