JAKKAL:
flesh + bones
F.A.Q.
How do I change the angle or position I play the
game?
JAKKAL can be played at any angle--play it upside down if you want!
To learn how to control your camera(view), read Camera
Controls.
How come my constructor doesn't build where I told
him to?
Make sure, first, that you have enough resources to construct that
building. Make sure nothing is in the area where you want the building. If you
are certain that you have done the above, try a slightly different location.
Why don't I produce any resources?
First make sure you have a building that produces that type of resources.
Then make sure that you constructed it by resources(a mine by gold ore, a smelter
by iron ore, etc.). Finally, make sure you have slaves in that building.
My sound does not work!
Make sure you have the lastest drivers installed.
The game plays too slow or the game is jerky!
Try a lower video mode or texture map detail. High texture detail
can really put a hit on performance if your 3D card doesn't have enough RAM.
Why can't I see the enemy that is attacking me?
You might not have a unit that can see the enemy. Move a unit closer
to the unit that is attacking you. You should see the enemy once it is in your
unit's vision.
I try to cast a spell but nothing happens.
You might have picked an invalid target for that spell. Some spells
can only be cast on units while other spells can be cast on units or buildings. You
might not have enough majik to cast that spell, also.
Is there anyway to get more slaves?
Yes. You can buy slaves in a cloning plant.
I am out of resources. How do I get more?
Build buildings to produce resources. If you can't, then you might
have to sell other buildings first. It is wise to dump your slaves first and get
your constructors out of the building before you sell. Sell the mines, smelters, and
mills that can no longer produce resources for you first. To get more gold, you can
also sell slaves in a cloning plant. When you sell a building, you get half of the
resources that it cost you to build it.
How can I see more of the map.
You can see more of the map with your unit's vision. Create units
with greater vision like a recon drakkan bat or build a SatCom. SatComs allow you to
see the whole map and enable the Global Command System.
Now that I have a recon drakkan bat, my units run
and attack everything without me telling them to. How do I stop them from doing
that?
Try having your drakkan bat stand ground. This will allow your other
units to use his vision, but the drakkan bat will not move. Have your other units
defending. This will forces them to return to their original location when they are
done attacking.
How many people developed JAKKAL?
The two man team of Shannon Schlomer and Ryan Schlomer designed,
developed, tested, and produced JAKKAL.
