Let me preface this by saying I'm a diehard Crue fan. I've gotten to know Nikki and Tommy somewhat and I support them, so this post might tend to be a little slanted...

I expected the E ! piece to be a bloodbath, and while it did totally dramatize the negative, it wasn't as bad as I expected. They had Tommy's sister Athena and her husband James Kottack speaking on his behalf. Otherwise, the only comments and clips from Crue bandmates were lifted from the "Decade of Decadence" video. A strong focus on his past relationships and arrests (airport gun possession, "beating" Bobby Brown, the photographer "attack" at the Viper Room in LA, the "abuse" of Pamela, etc). Also a focus on the drinking, drugging, and sexual decadence of the band as a whole.

Of course there were attacks from the drama queen A**hole lawyer Gloria Allred. Doc McGhee had some comments, but they were pretty much neutral. Matt Sorum of Guns n' Roses had some details to share about his drugging and stuff, as did a few other sources. Tommy did get credit for his drumming, band dedication, and full-on, over-the-top live performances...but while making him out to be a monster, it would've been nice to hear about his parenting, his charity work (LifeBeat, etc) and such. The guy has always done the right thing and was nice as a prince with me (as is Nikki), but I don't doubt that he's also screwed up at times...but I'm sure the details are always slanted against him. I get turned off by some of the antics, but the guy IS human. As far as T-bone deserving jail...I don't know all of the details, but I know a detail or two more than the media reports. Maybe jail will "straighten him out"...and maybe it's necessary..but as far as deserved, I personally don't think so. There's more to what's been reported in the media than meets the eye.
