Do we need Black Sabbath these days? Do we need to hear these old songs again? Can they still play their instruments? Are they as good as they were? The questions about this album and the whole Reunion thing are many. But the answer is just one simple YES. We need them and they still rock.

With just a couple of downers this album shows Black Sabbath at their finest hour in Birmingham last winter with the megashowman Ozzy Osbourne in full bloom. The opening with War pigs is just pure crowd contact from the Ozzman. As I said the album has a couple of downers in Lord of this world/Dirty women which could have been replaced with Supernaut or Meglomania. Otherwise the tracklisting is alright and itÆs nice that they did not include boring solos in the set.

As a bonus on the Reunion disc we find two new songs. They feel a little misplaced at the end of the second CD, right after the finale of Children of the grave/Paraniod, and should not be judged together with the rest of the album. The first one is called Psychman and contains a mean little bastard riff from Mr Iommi. The song is really good but itÆs more of a "the period after Ozzy left" number. Selling my soul is up next and that one is just an ordinary one, nothing special at all.

It would be great if the four original members could continue to work in the studio but as Ozzy said "We will only do it if it turns out great". I think the fans believe that and even if they donÆt make another studio album, we still have this monumental recording of one of the greatest rock bands showing their best side at their home arena. You should go extra, extra fucking crazy to this one.
