Top 5 Reasons
Why our pages look
'less than wonderful'
With AOL's Web browser.
AOL 3.0 for Windows 95 has MSIE built into its program, fixing older
problems.
AOL 3.0 for Windows 3.0 will have the following problems:
- 1. Speed
- AOL web access is up to 4X slower than you'd find with a standard Internet Service Provider.
- 2. Images
- AOL's browser interprets GIF and JPEG files and then converts them to a different format for viewing.
This slows the transfer and
makes the images look grainy.
- 3. Tables
- AOL's browser does not view 'tables' correctly. Tables are a common way to format
pages on the web.
- 4. Updates
- This site changes every day. AOL stores old versions of the Web site in cached memory.
Be sure to click the "Reload" icon as you come to each
file. Without doing so, any changes or additions made may not appear!
- 5. Refresh
- AOL's browser does not support auto-refresh, which is used in places like the chat room to
automatically reload the page with the most current information.
Alas!
All is not lost!
