Right click in the empty space below the last mailbox, and select the
New MailBox...
option. A dialog asking for the User Name and Server and also your
password will appear. Enter your User Name (that is that part before the @)
and your Server Name (the part after the @). You don't need to type the @ in
either field.
You don't usually need to change any of the
Advanced
options.
You may have typed in your full email address in the Server Name field of the
Mailbox Settings Dialog. For example if your email address is
john@myfirm.com
your User Name will be john
and the Server Name
will be myfirm.com
. Your never need to type in the @ symbol.
If you are sure the password and user are correct then the server is probably wrong. It's possible that you are trying to check a mailbox on a different server that has other peoples mailboxes. The best way to check it is to see what the settings on your email program are and copy them.
You have to start your email program to see what is in the mailbox. MailW@tch just tells you there is something there.
MailW@tch can be set up to play a tune at intervals if you don't acknowledge new mail.
In the preferences dialog, check Play Reminder Tune
and select a tune to play.
A good place to find tunes is in the \WINNT\MEDIA
directory for Windows NT and in
\WINDOWS\MEDIA
for Windows 95. Tunes are .WAV files.
You can also decide how often to play the tune - 2 minutes (120 seconds) is a good interval.
You need to visit the Registration Page. A license number will be generated for you (usually within 24 hours) and emailed back to you with confirmation of your purchase.
In addition to credit cards, RegNet can accept cash, check or money order. Be sure to include all of your contact information with your payment. Make checks (drawn on a US bank) payable to Wintronix, Inc. and send to the following address:
RegNet (Wintronix) 21200 Trumpet Drive #201 Santa Clarita, CA 91321-4441When your check arrives, we will process your registration and fulfill the order.
Start MailW@tch as usual. Go to the About Dialog and click on the Register Button. You can then type in your name and company name and your new license number. You must type in the details exactly as shown on your Registration Certificate.

when I run MailW@tch under WNT4.0 ?
You need to install Windows Dial Up Networking. Even if you have a direct connection to the Internet (instead of a modem) you still require this.
To install
it double click on Network
on the control panel, select the
Services
tab and click Add...
. Then select
Remote Access Service
and follow the instructions.
You should be using V1.06 or later of MailW@tch.
If you are then there are three possibilities. Firstly, make sure your window is big enough.
The sender and subject details should appear directly beneath the last mailbox details.
If that's OK then check the answer to the next question.
You've done everyhing right. The problem may be a limitation of your particular
mail server.
Technically speaking, that mailserver does not support the either the TOP or the UIDL
command.
In practice this means you can't view the Subject and Sender details for
that mailbox using MailW@tch. Both these commands are optional for
mail servers, it's all working as designed.
You could ask your mail server administrator to upgrade the server to
one that does support TOP and UIDL.
This usually happens for one of your mail servers while all the others work fine.
The final possibility is that your mail server is very busy and takes so long
to process the TOP or UIDL command that MailW@tch thinks it's failed.
The solution is to ignore the message and try at again at a quieter time.
No, AOL doesn't use the Internet standard POP protocols so unfortunately neither MailW@tch nor any other standard email program will work.
No, Hotmail uses HTTP protocols and not POP protocols so unfortunately neither MailW@tch nor any other standard email program will work.
It's currently V1.12. And you can get it from http://www.deadsys.com/sw/mw32.zip
The workaround is to close MSExchange after you've finished accessing your mail with it. This allows all other programs to reach your mailboxes.
View Mail...
menu option. This will show you the contents of that
mailbox.
