Compiling and installing ASC on Unix systems

Setting up ASC from CVS

Getting and installing the data files

An ASC installation consists of the executables and data files. The basic data is stored in the files: Only the data that forms the main.con are checked into the CVS repository. To compile ASC you must get the files printed in itallic. To download them, just call the getdata script that is provided and run configure and make. Alternatively you can download them manually from www.asc-hq.org and place them into asc/data/.

They are required for building ASC and will be installed by make install.
