MIME, Plug-ins, DGI Arachne was designed to co-operate with other DOS applications when viewing documents of MIME types which are not built in. These "plug-ins" can for example view moovies, play sounds or convert complicated MIME types (like image/jpeg) to built in MIME or file types (like *.GIF or *.BMP). Arachne is also able to pass data from HTML query to applications, which understand DGI (Dos Gateway Interface) argument format (something like "offline CGI scripts"). Plug-ins and DGI applications are configured in esoteric configuration file MIME.CFG. Plain text configuration file You can view and edit directly the main configuration file ARACHNE.CFG. |
