NationsBank
NationsBank, one of the largest banks in the United States, has been using JBuilder the past six months on a variety of development projects. The company chose JBuilder over Visual J++, Visual Age, and Symantec Visual Cafe because of JBuilder's open database architecture and support for Sun's Java Development Kit 1.1.

"JBuilder is the best product for our upcoming and ongoing three-tier development projects," said John Melka, vice president and senior systems engineer of NationsBank Services, Inc., Global Finance Technology support for NationsBank. Daiwa Securities
Daiwa Securities has been using JBuilder for the past five months on a variety of projects, including a Trade Processing System that was deployed in September. The company built the application using a beta version of JBuilder and is planning to use JBuilder Client/Server Suite for a variety of future projects.

Ohio Department of Transportation
The Ohio Department of Transportation chose JBuilder as its primary Java development tool after being a mainframe-based shop for a number of years and is using JBuilder for a number of upcoming projects.

In the first few months since its release, JBuilder has been well-received by corporate reseller and channel distributors.

Other Borland JBuilder partners include Oracle Corp. and IBM. As announced earlier this year, Oracle is licensing Borland's Java development technologies for use with Oracle's own database systems and application development tools. Under the terms of this agreement, Oracle will integrate and distribute JBuilder technology with a number of Oracle's existing and future products. In July, IBM and Borland announced a joint development effort to explore ways through JBuilder and IBM's San Francisco Project to improve the enterprise-wide Java development process through an integration of visual tools, Wizards and object-oriented components.

Educational Success
Educational institutions nationwide, such as MIT, Arizona State University East, Purdue University, and U.C.L.A, have adopted JBuilder for inclusion in their computer science and Java courseware curriculum.
