What's New In the IDE

The JBuilder 2 Visual IDE provides Java developers with a proven RAD environment with many key new features including, JDK Switching, JFC/Swing component integration, and CodeInsight. JBuilder's intuitive AppBrowser and Pure Java Two-Way-Tools continue to distinguish JBuilder as the preferred Java development environment for creating 100% Pure Java applets, applications and JavaBeans.

JDK Switching  
JBuilder 2 allows you to work with the JDK of your choice using JDK Switching. With JDK Switching, developers can use a simple dialog to select either the corporate standard JDK, the JDK included with JBuilder, or the latest and greatest version from JavaSoft, from 1.02 through the latest 1.2 and beyond.

JFC/Swing Integration  
JBuilder 2 now includes the new JFC/Swing components integrated into the component palette so you can create professional, full-featured 100% Pure Java user interfaces.

For database development, we have enhanced the Swing components with the dbSwing library of components. These components add data-aware capabilities to the Swing components giving you the means to rapidly create professional front ends to database applications without writing low-level JDBC code.

CodeInsight  
CodeInsight is a set of high-productivity coding Wizards that assist developers while programming, allowing them to build more robust applications faster. CodeInsight automatically provides developers with the proper syntax when creating and editing parameters, properties, methods, events, and highlights invalid data types. CodeInsight is also a useful tool for developers learning the Java language.
