What's New in DataExpress

JBuilder 2 contains the most comprehensive set of visual development tools for creating true platform-independent business and database applications for the enterprise. JBuilder's Pure Java DataExpress database architecture provides professional and enterprise application developers with industry standard JDBC database connectivity for all popular database formats, including Oracle, Sybase, Informix, InterBase, MS SQL Server, IBM DB2, and more. JBuilder 2 adds many powerful improvements to the already proven database architecture with the addition of the Pure-Java DataStore, as well as improved handling of Master-Detail relationships and Pick List support.

DataStore
The JBuilder DataStore provides high-performance data caching and persistent storage for data, files, and Java objects. The DataStore is 100% Pure Java and portable. Its small footprint makes it ideally suited for disconnected/mobile computing, asynchronous data replication, and embedded applications.

The DataExpress architecture has also been enhanced in JBuilder 2 with visual features such as the DataSet Column Designer for visually adding, removing and arranging columns in a DataSet, and the Aggregate Property Editor for visually defining aggregate operations.
