In this workshop you'll
learn how to apply an extrude to text.

- Use the Zoom tool and zoom in on
the words "Bon Voyage".
- Click the Pick tool.
- Select the "Bon Voyage" Artistic Text.
- Click Text menu, Extrude Text.
- Click the Point Light button on the Property Bar.
- Click the Add Light Source button and add multiple light sources.
- Select a Color from the color picker for each light source.
- Click the Apply button to view the results on the text.
- Click outside the text to return to the regular drawing window.
Tip
You can use any of the
camera tools to adjust the view or rotate the text.

You can add emphasis
to text by adjusting the drop cap settings.
- Select the first character of the Paragraph text with the
Text tool.
- Click Text menu, Format Text.
- Click the Effects tab.
- Select Drop Cap from the Effect Type list.
- Type 3 in the Dropped lines box.
- Type 0.02 in the Distance from text box.
- Click OK to apply the changes to the Drop Cap.
- Color the Drop Cap character a blue color.

Changing the color
in the travel brochure modifies the appearance.
- Select the background behind the ship with the Pick tool.
- Drag a different shade of blue on to the background circle
of the ship.
- Select the background behind the Paragraph text frames.
- Using the Interactive Transparency tool, fade this background
section to the upper left.
- Select the main background image.
- Using the Interactive Fill tool.
fill the page background with a fountain fill from the top left
to the bottom right.
