In this workshop you'll personalize a sample Birthday Card.

Selecting and moving objects is now easier with the addition of the X handle in the middle of the object.

  1. Click Edit menu, Select All, Objects.
  2. Select the center X handle and drag the objects to the center of the page.
  3. Use TAB to switch between display modes.
  4. Right-click the text and drag it over the curve.
  5. Release the mouse button and select Fit Text To Path from the menu that appears.
  6. Click View menu, Roll-Ups, Fit Text To Path.
  7. Choose the center alignment option.
  8. Click the Apply button.
  9. Hold CTRL and select the text.
  10. From the Font List on the Property Bar select a style.
  11. Click and hold down a color on the Color Palette.
  12. Select a color from the pop-up palette for the text.
  13. Select the curve and right-click the no color swatch on the Color Palette.

You can now rename a page tab to something more representative of your drawing.


  1. Select Page 2 using the Navigator.
  2. Right-click on the page tab, and click Rename Page.
  3. Type in a new page name and click OK.

You can edit text directly on screen using the Text tool.


  1. Click the Text tool.
  2. Select the text and remove the words "from all of us".
  3. Type in your own personal message.
  4. Change the text type style and size using the Property Bar.
  5. Change the text color using the Color Palette.
  6. Move the text to the top of the page.
  7. Move the cake image to the center of the page.
  8. Open the Interactive tool flyout and click the Interactive Drop Shadow tool.
  9. Drag a drop shadow for the cake.
  10. Drag a color from the Color Palette to the end point of the vector to change the color of the drop shadow.
