Neon effect creates objects
that appears as have the typical neon sign look.
This tutorial will provide step-by-step instruction of how to
create a neon effects as well as provide you with a graphic displaying
the result.

Begin by creating
an object in one of the following ways:
Import a piece of Clipart.
Type a character using
a font, eg. Diversities
Draw an object using one
of the drawing tools

Follow the next
steps to establish the proper foundation for the neon effect.
- Select the object with the Pick tool
and apply a thick black outline with round end caps.
- Copy the object using the + key

Using fill and outlines
lets you create the appearance of neon.
- Apply a thin outline to the second object.
- Change the color of the second object to a lighter contrasting
color.
- Marquee select the two objects.
- Press CTRL-B to bring up the Blend Rollup. Press the Apply
button on the rollup.

Finally, setting
a background creates the effect of a neon sign.
- Create a background that has the same color as the first object
(in this case black).
- Place the background rectangle behind the blended shape.
- Convert the objects to BMP and apply the Gaussian blur effect.
