When installing beta version do not overwrite your current installation (install it to a dirrectory different from your current installation).  If you wish to use data from your previous version then copy the data files (.pkd and all associated .001, .002, .003, etc.) to the beta version directory.  Then use "File/Open" command to open them in the new beta version.  (The data file format is different from the version 3.0 and you will not be able to open new data files in the version 3.0.)

There are these new features:

1. 50+ new commands (if, waitfor, clipboard, FTP, system, windows, forms, text formatting, goto, variable, etc.).
2. 30+ new system variables (time, date, system folders,
   etc.).
3. Drag & drop - use drag and drop to re-order items, copy/move items to other folder, move folder or run macro in desired window.
4. Lock mode - special mode that protects settings from change.
5. Password protection - items can be password protected so that other users cannot run them or cnage them.
6. Export/import from/to text file. Items can be exported and imported using human-read text file.
7. Add Wizard - simple way how to add new item.
8. Improved macro recording (wizard, mouse movements can
   be relative to active window or to curret mouse position,
   and much more).
9. Templates - user can mark some items as templates and then
   easily create a copy of such items.
10. Log file - all macros writes the start time and end time to the log.txt file.
11. "Always start minimized" option in the main settings.
12. "Start automatically on Windows Startup" option in the main settings.
13. Word-breaking characters - by specifying right set of your word-breaking characters you can make the text shortcut expanding yet more reliable.
14. Improved help with separeted commands index.
15. Case sensitive text shortcuts.
16. Text shortcuts can contain international characters like öáeïëÜ.
17. Improved "window-specific" items. The window can be specified more precisely (child window+parent window).
18. Items can have name and icon (for simpler navigation).
19. Macro can be started in separate process (good for time consuming macros).
20. Often used items can be added to tray menu.
21. Items can be run automatically at the program startup.
22. Items can be enabled/disabled.
23. Macro size can be up to 30000 characters long.
24. File format is changed so that now all your data are saved in one file with the "apf" extension.
