In general there are not many occasions when it would be necessary to build the custom rules. After the installation of Tiny Personal Firewall all applications are treated as unknown and their first activity will pop up Ask User dialog where you can specify whether the application will be allowed to communicate or not.

TPF4 brings along the list of the most common applications including the system applications which are preconfigured.
