Stacking Order

Several objects may be stacked atop of one another, partially or fully covering objects layered below. Based on shape and transparency, portions of an object may or may not be visible.

Page vs. Layout Stacks

Images appearing on a page can originate from the Layout Template, or could have been added in Layout or in Page Editor mode. There are five stacks, dedicated to layout images and page images respectively.

Working with Stacks

The order of the three layout stacks and two page stacks is permanent. Using the Object Context menu, images can be moved forward and backward through the stacks. The specific capabilities depend on the current StudioLine mode and whether the image is page or layout based.

Page Editor Mode

Both page and layout images are visible. Page-based images can be moved freely through and between the page foreground and background stack. Layout-based images can only move within their current stack.

New images are added to the very front of the Page Foreground stack.

Layout and Template Modes

Images can be moved within their current layout stack or can be assigned to a different layout stack. New images are added to the very front of the Layout Middle stack.
