User's Guide is provided with this software. Also, you should
consult the release notes before running
the Calendar Link.
After
installing Netscape Calendar Link
After running the Calendar Link for PalmPilot installer, you need to
perform the following steps on your PC.
1. Perform a HotSync. This will install the NC Setup application
onto the Palm organizer. Note that you may get a message in the log saying
"Cannot locate NC Setup. Make sure it is installed on the Palm organizer".
This message is normal, and will go away once the NC Setup application
is installed.
2. Run NC Setup on the Palm organizer. Enter your user name,
server, password, etc. The various options are explained in the user's
guide, which is part of the installation.
3. On your PC, locate HotSync Manager's icon (it's at the right
of the task bar, next to the current time). Click on the icon to bring
up HotSync Manager's menu. Choose the "Custom..." menu command. This will
bring up a dialog box that lets you choose which PalmPilot database to
HotSync.
4. You may wish to review the settings for each of Calendar Events
and Tasks.
-
If you already have data in the Palm organizer's Date Book or To Do List,
you will probably want to leave the settings to their default value ("Synchronize
the files"). This will copy the data from the organizer into Calendar and
vice versa.
-
If you do not have any data in the Palm organizer, you can change the settings
so that the information in Calendar completely replaces that in the organizer
("Desktop overwrites Handheld").
5. Perform a second HotSync. This will synchronize your Calendar
data!
