 EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMMES FOR SCHOOL GROUPS
Educational programmes are offered to groups of primary and secondary
schoolchildren not exceeding 30 individuals. Preparatory material (texts and slides) are
loaned to schools 15 days before the scheduled visit. The presentation, which is intended
to involve the children and is pitched at their level, is undertaken by museum educators.
The programmes can be adapted for individuals with special needs.
School groups can visit the Museum without a planned programme. Teachers
can prepare themselves to present the Museum exhibits to their classes by making use of
supervisory material available on loan, and by attending seminars and tours of the Museum
specifically organised for educationalists.
Teachers intending to lead independent tours of the Benaki Museum must
first contact the Department of Educational Programmes. The number of children in such
groups is strictly limited.
