Laskaris Charalambos was born in Salonica where he lives and paints. He showed his inclination to painting since he was in primary school. In the early age of 16 he participated in an amateur painter's competition in YMCA in 1967. He studied English literature in the University of Salonica. During this period he attended classes in the history of Art with professor of Art at the University of Salonica, Chrisanthos Christou.  He made free studies in painting and sat next to well - known painters from whom he retrieved valuable information about painting techniques.

For a long period he has also studied an extensive biography of English and Greek books about Art. He was greatly influenced by the Impressionists.

The tools he works with are mainly painting knives. His palette usually consists of pal earthly colours. with the passing of time he turned to more realistic painting because he believes that art must seek perfection and doesn't need distortion to become appealing to people.

He spent his first creative years in the countryside, where he worked as a teacher of English.  His contact with nature influenced him decisively. He painted a large number of paintings about Greece that is destroyed under concrete and the so called modernization.

Other sources of inspiration have been Mount Athos, still   life, and the ancient and modern sculpture presented in a personal way. He has been a member ofthe professional painter's Club since 1986.
