| Description: | Adapt/PC-2000 is a suite of Y2K testing tools. The two main components are the Adapt/PC-Manager and Adapt/PC-DataScan. Adapt/PC-Manager is a year 2000 project and inventory management tool that brings together information relating to the assessment status of the organisation's PC, server, mainframe and mini-computers. Adapt/PC-DataScan searches PCs, midrange and mainframe databases, spreadsheets and other file types, identifying any data that seem to contain dates which are not Y2K ready. The Y2K readiness is determined by a set of user-defined and/or predefined search criteria. The EasyViewer features assists by highlighting the source code so that any bugs are easily identifiable. | Description: | Here are two Y2K tools from Viasoft. The BIOS test is an unrestricted but very basic testing program (which most Y2K tools have) that provides a solution for systems with clocks that are unable to roll into the year 2000. The OnMark Assess program, however, performs tests on your BIOS and operating system clock and generates a concise report on year 2000 compatibility. Your applications are analysed for Y2K compliance and data files are scanned for dates containing years expressed in two-digit and four-digit formats. Reports are generated with indicators assigned to the severity of each issue. For Microsoft Excel users there is also a feature that generates a colour-coded and annotated duplicate of a spreadsheet pointing out cells that have Y2K problems. | ||||
