An alternative to Gspot, MovieID identifies the format of movie files and displays information about them. The program is stand-alone, and doesn't require any players, codecs or multimedia DLL's to be installed on your system. It doesn't use the file name extension to identify files, so it's great for identifying movie files that have been incorrectly named. That said, MovieID is a lot harder to use than GSpot, so it's only recommended for advanced users.
