Terms and Conditions

1. Information on how to enter forms part of these conditions of entry.
2. Promotion open to all residents of Australia only. Employees of the Promoter and their immediate families and agencies associated with this promotion are ineligible to enter. To enter go to http://www.apcmag.com/cd_competitions follow the prompts and leave you name, email address, postal address for delivery of prize and daytime contact telephone number and tell us in 25 words or less the "three OSI (Open Systems Interconnect) layers that firewalls operate, and why you need a firewall on your home PC". Promotion commences 16/06/04 and closes on 20/07/04 at 11:59pm EST. Only one entry per person permitted.
3. This is a game of skill and chance plays no part in determining the winner. The Promotion will be judged by a panel of judges appointed by the Promoter. Judging will begin on 21 July 2004. Winners will be notified by mail and their names posted on the APC magazine Web site at www.apcmag.com on 30/07/04. Each entry will be individually judged based on literary and creative merit. Judges' decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
4. The best four answers as determined by the judges will each receive the latest boxed copy of ZoneAlarm Pro 4, valued at $70.35 each. Prize does not include all ancillary costs. These are the responsibility of the winner. Prize valued in Australian dollars on 18/5/04. Prize value mentioned is the recommended retail value as provided by the supplier and is correct at time of printing. The Promoter is neither responsible nor liable for any change in value that occurs between 18/5/04 and the date the prize is claimed.
5. The Promoter shall not be liable for any loss or damage whatsoever which is suffered (including but not limited to indirect or consequential loss) or for any personal injury suffered or sustained during the course of the prize except for any liability which cannot be excluded by law.
6. The Promoter is not responsible for any incorrect or inaccurate information, either caused by Web site users or by any of the equipment or programming associated with or utilised in this competition, or by any technical error that may occur in the course of the administration of this competition. The Promoter assumes no responsibility for any error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation or transmission, communications line failure, theft or destruction or unauthorised access to or alteration of entries. If for any reason this competition is not capable of running as planned (including but not limited to) infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorised intervention, fraud, technical failures or any other causes beyond the control of the Promoter which corrupts or affect the administration security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of this competition, the Promoter reserves the right in its sole discretion to disqualify any individual who tampers with the entry process, and to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the competition.
7. All entries become the property of the Promoter. The collection, use and disclosure of personal information provided in connection with this competition is governed by the Privacy Notice (see contents page for location in this issue).
