Your free full working version of Norton Utilities 2002 comprises of the following programs:
Speed Disk
Speed Disk improves system performance by reorganising fragmented files
so that every file's contents fall within contiguous clusters. It then
lays out the files on a hard disk so the ones that are used most are quickly
accessible.
Norton System Doctor
System Doctor automatically detects potential disk and system problems
and takes preventive measures to avoid serious trouble. System Doctor
monitors and analyses the "vital signs" of various parts of
a computer, including disk and CPU usage, disk integrity, system integrity,
network throughput, Internet site access time and more. Users determine
when and how System Doctor reacts to certain conditions or problems.
If a System Doctor sensor encounters a preset alert condition or detects a problem with the system, an alert identifies the problem. System Doctor either recommends a course of action or corrects the problem automatically, if so configured. With System Doctor, total system monitoring, protection and recovery is as simple as running one program.
Norton WinDoctor
WinDoctor performs a series of tests to diagnose and fix most Windows
problems. These problems include all types of software errors, hardware
configurations, clutter from failed uninstalls and more.
With WinDoctor, users can automatically fix every problem with a click of the mouse; users can also select specific problems to fix and how to repair them. WinDoctor works with System Doctor, continuously monitoring for Windows problems and alerting users when they occur.
UnErase Wizard
This utility helps users recover lost or deleted files. It can locate
and recover files that are protected by Norton Protection or the Windows
Recycle Bin. UnErase Wizard also recovers overwritten files.
Norton Disk Doctor
The integrity of hard disks is vital to trouble-free computing. In addition
to checking the integrity of logical disk structures - such as boot records,
file allocation tables, and directories - Disk Doctor performs a series
of surface analysis tests to ensure the integrity of disks. It can be
configured to repair various disk problems automatically, even while it
runs in the background. Like WinDoctor, Disk Doctor works with System
Doctor to continuously monitor systems for disk problems and alert users
when they occur.
Norton Protected
Recycle Bin
Norton Protected Recycle Bin adds extra, configurable data recovery protection
to the Recycle Bin to help users recover deleted files that the Recycle
Bin cannot find. Norton Protected Recycle Bin loads automatically when
Windows starts and, when used in conjunction with Norton Utilities 2002's
UnErase Wizard, provides the most complete recovery system for all deleted
and overwritten files.
System Information
System Information gives users access to common device information as
well as hard-to-find details about every area of their computer, including
memory, logical and physical characteristics of disks, network connections,
multimedia devices and Internet connections.
Wipe Info
This utility removes all traces of selected files or folders from the
Windows user's hard drive. It can also wipe the free space on a hard disk,
ensuring that previously deleted information is not left on the disk.
Wipe Info supports two modes: Fast Wipe, which writes all zeros or any
other character selected, and Government Wipe, which conforms to the method
specified by the U.S. DoD.

Install
instructions: The installation file below for Norton Utilities
2002 must be run directly from this CD. Do not download the file to your
hard drive. Internet Explorer users click on the link below and choose
Open or "Run from current location" to begin installation. Alternatively,
Netscape users can run the file setup.exe from the features\norton\files\NU
directory.
