Getting Started with PPPshar Pro

It is easy to get started. All Internet services like http, ftp, email etc are pre-configured in PPPshar. So no need to make any changes to PPPshar Pro settings for most situations. If default settings doesn't work see Settings section for help.

Note: When you run PPPshar Pro, the program loads and always minimizes itself into an icon in the system tray near the system clock. Click on the pppshar tray icon to see the pppshar window in the taskbar. Always open this pppshar window to check for any error messages. When you click on the tray icon, pppshar window will be minimized in the taskbar area. Click on minimized window to see the pppshar window in maximized state. Click on the "minimize" button to put it again in the system tray.

If you already have a working tcp/ip connection among the PCs in your network, do the following : -

• Load PPPshar (you will get a window which says pppshar is running) in the gateway machine and go online. PPPshar window will automatically minimize and sits as an icon in system tray. Click on the tray icon to see the window.
• Configure proxy settings in the browser in the client machine. (See Configuration section)
• Start accessing the web from the client machine. Try different websites from the browser. Happy Surfing !

If you have not yet setup a tcp/ip connection among your PCs, do the following : -

• See the "Setting up your LAN" section to install tcp/ip and/or assign IP addresses.
• Load PPPshar in the gateway machine and go online. PPPshar window will automatically minimize and sits as an icon in system tray. Click on the tray icon to see the window.
• Configure proxy settings in the browser in the client machine. (See Configuration section)
• Start accessing the web from the client machine. Try different websites from the browser. Happy Surfing !
