To access the Seti@Home server you must set your proxy for the Seti GUI client.

To set your proxy follow these steps

  1. Select the Settings menu item at the top of the client screen
  2. Select and click on the preferences menu item
  3. In the bottom third of the preferences window you will see an area marked Proxy
  4. Select the 'Connect via proxy' option
  5. In the HTTP Proxy box enter your gateway machine IP address.
  6. In the Port selection box enter 80
  7. Click the OK button

To set the proxy for the command line client you must invoke the proxy when you start it. To invoke proxy settings you use a 'switch' when you first start it up.

The command to set the pppshar proxy on the command line client, type the following:

" seti - proxy 192.168.0.1 " (where seti is the filename of your windows command line client executable file and 192.168.0.1 is the IP address of your gateway/pppshar machine)
