- Make sure you change the smtp host in
the pppshar Settings (Start-->Programs-->PPPshar Pro--> Settings)
to your smtp host as described below.
- locate the service #smtp in
the settings and change host=mail.server.net to your SMTP
HOST NAME.(outgoing mail server address. eg: host=mail.ibm.net
Consult your ISP or refer gateway machine settings to find out your
smtp host.

- Go to Tools-->Services
- Select "Internet Mail"
and Click "Properties"
- Under "Mailbox Information":
- Mailserver: type your gateway
machine IP (typically 192.168.0.1)
Account Name: username#pop3server.com ( Replace pop3server.com
with your actual POP3 server like pop.ibm.net. Consult your ISP or refer gateway
machine settings to find out your pop3 host. (note
the # sign. Do not use @ sign ) Ex: username#server.ibm.net where
server.ibm.net is your pop3 server. )
Password: your password
Microsoft Outlook

- Click on Tools to open a drop down menu
- Click on Account and click on the Mail tab
- Click on Add and select Mail
- Enter a Display Name
- Click on Next
- Enter your return e-mail address
- Click on Next
- Select POP3 mail server from the drop down box
- In the Incoming and Outgoing mail servers enter the IP address
of the pppshar machine
- Click Next
- In the Pop Account Name field, enter your POP3 account in this pattern
- username#pop3server.com ( Replace pop3server.com
with your actual POP3 server like pop.ibm.net. Consult your ISP or refer gateway
machine settings to find out your pop3 host. (note
the # sign. Do not use @ sign ) Ex: username#server.ibm.net where
server.ibm.net is your pop3 server. )
- Enter your password for that account
- Click on Next, Enter a Friendly Name and Click Next
- Click Connect using my LAN and click Next and Finish
