Each Internet application that you run on each
Workstation should be setup to use proxy.
In this case the Gateway machine is the proxy server. Configure
your Web browsers on each of the "Workstation" to
use proxy:

In MS-Internet Explorer 5.x or higher
- Pull down the Tools menu and
Select Internet Options
- Click the "Connection"
Tab
- Under LAN Settings Click "LAN Settings"
button
- Make sure the "Automatically detect settings"
option is disabled.
- Under "Proxy Server"
Enable the "Use a Proxy Server" option
- Click Advanced
- Under HTTP proxy field
type your gateway machine IP (typically 192.168.0.1)
and in the Port type 80
- Under Secure proxy field
type your gateway machine IP (typically 192.168.0.1)
and in the Port type 443
- Under FTP proxy field type
your gateway machine IP (typically 192.168.0.1)
and in the Port type 8000
- Under SOCKS proxy field
type your gateway machine IP (typically 192.168.0.1)
and in the Port type 1080
- Leave other fields Blank. Click OK
In MS-Internet Explorer 3.0x or 4.x
- Go to menu View… Options
- Click the "Connection"
Tab
- Under "Proxy Server"
option Tick the "Connect to Proxy Server" and
- Click "Settings"
- Under HTTP proxy field
type your gateway machine IP (typically 192.168.0.1)
and in the Port type 80
- Under Secure proxy field
type your gateway machine IP (typically 192.168.0.1)
and in the Port type 443
- Under FTP proxy field type
your gateway machine IP (typically 192.168.0.1)
and in the Port type 8000
- Under SOCKS proxy field
type your gateway machine IP (typically 192.168.0.1)
and in the Port type 1080
- Leave other fields Blank.
