Active Directory Connector Overview
Active Directory Connector (ADC) provides a method for replicating
a Microsoft Exchange Server version 5.5 directory with the
Microsoft Windows 2000 Server Active Directory. You can perform replication
from either direction, depending on how you configure the connection agreement.
Use ADC to:
- Replicate selected containers in the Windows
2000 Active Directory to equivalent containers in the Exchange Server
directory.
- Replicate selected Exchange directory
containers into equivalent Windows 2000 Server Active Directory containers.
Microsoft Windows 2000 Server Active Directory Users and Computers
The Windows Administrator manages users, groups, and contacts within
Windows 2000 Server Active Directory Users and Computers. When you perform directory replication from
Windows to Exchange,
the selected Windows 2000 Server Active Directory objects are added to the Exchange directory.
Microsoft Exchange Server Administrator Program
The Exchange Administrator program manages mailboxes, custom recipients, and distribution lists
within the Exchange directory. When you perform directory replication from
Exchange to Windows,
the selected Exchange objects are added to the Windows 2000 Server Active Directory.
