Designate a Primary Connection Agreement

  1. In the details pane, double-click the Connection Agreement for which you want to specify synchronization page sizes.
  2. On the Advanced tab, select either This is a Primary Connection Agreement for the connected Exchange organization or This is a Primary Connection Agreement for the connected Windows domain to designate a Primary Connection Agreement.

A Primary Connection Agreement replicates existing directory objects. It also creates and replicates new directory objects in the destination directory for other directory objects being replicated. A non-primary Connection Agreement only replicates information to pre-existing objects.

Important If you are using more than one Connection Agreement to replicate Windows user accounts to a single Exchange organization, it is important that only one of the Connection Agreements is designated as a primary Connection Agreement. Multiple primary Connection Agreements replicating to the same Exchange organization will result in duplicate recipient objects in the Exchange organization. The check boxes are selected by default regardless of whether a Connection Agreement already exists in the organization.
