JBuilder 3.5 Foundation for Windows
JBuilder 3.5 Foundation is the most comprehensive set of award-winning,
visual development tools for creating Pure Java, platform-independent business
applications, applets, servlets, and JavaBeans for the Java 2 platform.
System Requirements
- Windows 98 or Windows NT 4.0 (or higher)
- PII 233MHz (recommended minimum)
- 128 MB RAM (recommended minimum)
- 150 MB hard disk space
Please read these instructions entirely before installing JBuilder 3.5
Foundation.
- Install JBuilder 3.5 Foundation.
- Install the Documentation files.
- Install the Samples.
- Install the OpenTools documentation files.
- Run JBuilder 3.5 Foundation.
This version of JBuilder 3 contains an updated version of JDK 1.2.2 and JPDA.You should use this version instead of any earlier version that you might have.
Inportant! If you have a previous installation of JBuilder 3 Foundation or JBuilder 3 for Solaris, you will need to uninstall that version before installing JBuilder 3.5.

JBuilder 3.5 Foundation requires these installation steps:
- Double-click on the icon for your CD-ROM drive.
- Double-click on install.exe in the jbuilder\windows\foundation folder to launch the first part of the installation program.
- If needed, change the default language for JBuilder, then click OK.
- Follow the prompts and click Next.
- Accept the license agreement when prompted, then click Next.
- Choose the directory where you want JBuilder installed, then click Next.
Do not choose a directory that contains spaces in its name. JBuilder will not run
if the name of the directory in which it is installed contains spaces.
- When the installation program is completed, click Done.
To install the JBuilder 3.5 documentation, you should have at least 70 MB of available hard disk space.
- Double-click on install.exe in the jbuilder\windows\docs folder to launch the installation program.
- Follow the prompts and click Next.
- Accept the license agreement when prompted, then click Next.
- Choose the directory where JBuilder is installed, then click Next.
Note: If you install the JBuilder documentation into a location different from the suggested default directory,
the documentation will not be accessible from the JBuilder Help Viewer.
- When the installation program is completed, click Done.
To install the JBuilder 3.5 samples, you should also have at least 10 MB of available hard disk space.
- Double-click on install.exe in the jbuilder\windows\samples folder to launch the installation program.
- Follow the prompts and click Next.
- Accept the license agreement when prompted, then click Next.
- Choose the directory where JBuilder is installed, then click Next.
- When the installation program is completed, click Done.
- The OpenTools documentation is available at following location: jbuilder\windows\opentools\opentools.zip.
- Unarchive these files into the directory where you would like this documentation stored.
Note: The files will be unarchived beginning at the root of the directory you choose.
We suggest that you unarchive these files to one of these directories:
- jbuilder35/doc/opentools
- jbuilder35/opentools
When you run JBuilder 3.5 Foundation for the first time, you will need the serial number and registration key
that you obtained when you registered on our website. If you haven't registered,
do so here.
- Choose Start|Programs|JBuilder 3.5|JBuilder 3.5.
- When the License Manager appears, enter your name and your company name, then click Add.
- Enter your serial number and license key, then click OK.
- Accept the license agreement when prompted, then click OK.
- Click OK to exit the License Manager.
- Click OK to exit the License Information dialog box.
- JBuilder 3.5 Foundation is now running.
To uninstall JBuilder:
- Locate the directory where JBuilder was installed.
- Delete the JBuilder directory.
- Delete the
.jbuilder
directory in your Windows or Windows NT directory.
