In this version players assume the role of one of the marines sent in to deal with the catastrophe at the Black Mesa Research Facility. The depicted events are actually the same as those from the original game but the new perspective makes everything fresh. Naturally the mission begins to go wrong from the word go, and your team is quickly split up under dramatic circumstances. 	The final release version of this game is incredibly polished. It essentially takes the Quake II multiplayer experience and injects new weapons, new graphics, new levels, new power-ups, in fact new everything. While it is most certainly squarely focused on Internet play, the game also includes a single player bot-driven component which is actually quite hard to distinguish from the real deal. Playing modes include all the old favourites like Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch and Capture the Flag.
