How do I remap my keyboard for certain keys?

A:

Remapping your keyboard

  1. Launch /NextDeveloper/Demos/Keyboard.app
  2. Choose New from the Document menu
  3. Using the mouse, click the up arrow key in the picture of the keyboard
  4. Look for the field that has the 0xad code in it
  5. Select the 0xad code in the text field and choose Copy from the Edit menu
  6. Using the mouse, click the 8 key on the numeric keypad in the picture of the keyboard (this is the key we want to remap)
  7. Select its code in the text field and paste the 0xad over it
  8. Change the popup from ASCII to Symbol
  9. Repeat steps 3-8 for each arrow key you want to remap
  10. Save this keymapping as .keymapping, in your home directory
  11. Choose Use Keymap from the Document menu, in the Keyboard.app menu
