The first support group meeting I attended was down in Indianapolis, Indiana,
about 150 miles from where I live. That Saturday morning I was very nervous
about attending the meeting, but finally decided that I really needed to
go. When I got there I checked out where the meeting was
to be held so I could find it later that night. After I checked out the area
I went to the hotel where I was staying.
At the hotel I was still nervous about meeting my sisters,
so I decided a nice hot bath and shaving my legs was in order. That was the
best idea I could have had as it left me so relaxed. I knew I was now ready
to attend the meeting.
After the bath I did my nails and thought it a good idea to shave the backs
of my hands. I put on my dress for the evening and noticed it did not extend
to my wrist and the hair on my arms were still showing. So it was time to
make a little adjustment, and I shaved all the hair off my arms. It really felt good. After applying my
make up and wig this girl was ready for a night out.
It felt so good to finally be dressed , to match the way I feel. I
walked out of the hotel like I owned the place. As I drove over to the meeting I had all the confidence in the
world.
When I arrived, there was only one car in the drive, I
thought I might be in the wrong place. I walked up to the front door and there
was a sign that said come in, so I did. Shannon greeted me, and it was like I
was born for that moment. Trisha was finally out all the way!!! I have never
felt like I belonged anywhere as much as I did that night. I really had a fabulous
time. I appreciated how all the girls did their best to make me feel welcome.
It was one of the most beautiful experiences I have ever had. It was just
remarkable how easy it was to let my feminine side out. It was like I had
been doing this all my life, the inner peace was incredible.
If any of you girls get a chance to attend a group meeting by all means go, it
is well worth your time.
