Five Ideas For a Beatiful Look

By Debbie Nicole Allen

Some of TGF's prettiest readers have agreed to share with us their favorite style and beauty tips. Debbie Allen lives in Tampa, Florida, and is highly accomplished in her ability to do her makeup and look and works closely with professional female impersonators. Debbie has her own Pictorial here with many photos demonstrating her skills.
I have five suggestions which have helped me more than all the books / makeovers etc.

1. Foundation - liquid foundation does not work well on male skin and you should always use a "panstick" like Max Factor or even better Double Play by Revlon. The very best is a product made by Joe Blasco / Orlando Florida - call directory information for phone #.

I use olive beige #5. They will mail order with a credit card. It is the very best by far since it has the highest "pigment" of ALL foundations. It is used by a lot of the Glamour Shots - the mall photography chain. It is about $10 a pack - and you only need a small amount to cover so it lasts forever. Make up is like painting a picture - and your face when covered is the canvas. You MUST have a good foundation.

2. Eyes Every time I go out - I get compliments on my eyes ! A lot of real girls ask me how I get them to look so large. Remember that this is all "an illusion" - You take what you have and "enhance" - make the best of what you have.

First I "tape" using double sided tape and 3m Transporan medical tape - found in any drug store. I stretch my eyes up on the forehead and on each side of my eyes. Completely covered by your wig - no one will see the tape and it is like an instant "face lift" ! But it will increase the total size of you eyes.

Then color your eyebrows in an arch. Next use white powder right under your eyebrows and above the other eye colors. This will have the effect of adding size to your eyes. Then add the other colors and blend and blend until you can see no lines.Years ago it was ok to have these color lines - but not today.

Always add eye lashes to make your eyes even more dramatic. It take lots of practice to do this right - but it looks great. Use "soft " colors ( browns and burgundys) on your eyelids and work the darker colors to the outside toward your ears. The add a little black on the outside and blend all together. You can also color your lower eyelid "white" with a thin pencil line to add to the illusion. You want to make your eyes look "huge" - I like the dark sultry look.

3. Cheekbones You want to make them stand out high - a major difference with a guys face vs a females. You do this easily with 3 different colors. Pucker your lips so that your cheek bones stand out clearly. Then brush on the darkest color - perhaps a dark amber - in a circular shape from 1" on each side of nose to 1" on each side of eyes. Then use a lighter color above and again an even lighter color above that. Now blend it all across your cheeks out and upward. And blend again so there are no lines. Your cheeks will "pop" just like a real female.

4. Lips Make them huge ! Use a dark brown pencil to outline - then a lighter burgundy to soften the line. Add lipstick - I paint my lips using a brush. Then use "clown white" - sold in costume stores - deep inside your lips and blend all together. This will make your lips look huge and "pouty".

5. Finally Use a very special powder made by Steins Cosmetic Co.of Freeport New York. When you have completely painted you face use their "pink face powder" all over. It will add a "glow". Right under your eyes use their #1 white face powder - again to increase the size of your eyes. Make up is an "art" to be learned.

Two words of advice - practice and blend ! Sometimes getting all painted up is a "bitch" - but when finished and you pull on that wig - you "go girl ! - the world is "yours" and you will dazzle them all. Tone down everything - softer colors for daytime. Darker colors for evening. And even darker colors for the nightclubs. Take chances with colors - read cosmetic books - pay for a makeover - rent a video and learn all you can. The pretty dresses mean nothing if you face is not feminine. ALL of these tricks are used by the professional showgirls and let me tell you that "they" don't share their "illusion tricks" often. I also have had "silicone" injected into my cheeks and upper lip - to make them appear higher and puffy.

Love you all - Debbie.
