Eternal Damnation

Why would a loving and omnipotent creator place creatures upon His earth in one gender with an uncontrollable compulsion to be another?

Deuteronomy 22:5 informs that "The woman shall not wear that which pertaineth unto a man, neither shall a man put on a women's garments for all that do so are abomination unto the Lord thy God" Without plausible explanation for the misery and unhappiness so many of us experience in our attempt to exist in a birth gender that seems entirely wrong, I can only believe our God had some plan in our creation. Were we perhaps specially chosen to experience and understand humanity from all sides? Whatever His reason-it is unacceptable that my God would create an abomination.

Reading the 1/10/94 issue of Time magazine, I came across an article, "Jesus Christ, Plain and Simple" in which they state that "three newly published scholarly books put forth a startlingly revisionist picture of Jesus." Most startling, at least for me, are the following sexist and macho statements.

The life of Jesus is actually contained in five gospels. "And what of the fifth gospel? It is the Gospel of Thomas, which church fathers deemed unacceptable because it contained ideas of the heretical Gnostic sects. The book ends with Jesus rebuking Peter for trying to oust a woman, Mary from the company of disciples.

"Females are not worthy of life,' says Peter. Jesus replies 'I shall guide her to make her a male, so that she too may become a living spirit resembling males. For every female who makes herself male will enter Heaven's Kingdom" I can only conjecture the meaning of this, but it is indeed interesting.

I RESPECT FAITH, BUT DOUBT IS WHAT GETS YOU AN EDUCATION!
