Your Letters to Transgender Forum

Masculine Guy

Hi Cindy, I just love this web page! I am a masculine guy, 38 years old and self employed as an electrical contractor...I have long been an admirer of TVs although I have never met or much less dated one even though I live minutes from Los Angeles where one might expect to be able to locate such a person. Oh well, such is life. This is a wonderful contribution you are making with this web site, very nice and respectable in it's appearance. Do you offer a sort of "personals" area for meeting others with this interest? Anyway,

Love ya.....................................Rick

Ed. Note: What do YOU think, should we have tasteful personals here? This is not alt.transgendered nor is it the IRC. Thank God on Both Counts! Have you checked either lately? #Crossdress is such a snooze! Write and tell me. Should we have personals or not?

Scouting Controversy

Dear Cindy,

When I read this about a mounth ago it really angered me.

If anyone wants to flame me go ahead, assuming that you are capable of writing a valid argument I'd love to hear it.

Now, it has come to my attention that the transgendered community has hopped on the bandwagon with the Gay/Lesbian/Bi community in boycotting the Boy Scouts of America. I do not understand this at all. The BSA is one of the greatest things that America has going for it. I'm sure many of you don't agree with me, but we'll see at the end of this paper.

It turns out two men were turned down for being Scout Masters because they were openly gay about a year ago. I sure they would have been great Leaders for the Scouts, but was that who they were doing it for? Did it benefit the Scouts in any way that the two men were Gay? Or were they only doing it to say here we are, we can do whatever we want? If they were allowed to become Scout Masters how many parents would have let their boys stay in the troop? If the troop died, how would that help the boys? And that IS why they wanted to become Scout Masters isn't it?

Regardless of whether they had the boysí best interest in hand, who is the boycott really hurting? Not the organization, there are no paid workers who will be laid off or anything. It comes down to hurting the boys. If the tow men really wanted to help the boys, do you think they'd want us all to boycott them?

Now I'm sure most of you are saying the BSA might as well be destroyed since it teaches boys to hate people who deviate from the norm, in other words, us. Well, youíre wrong, it doesn't. What it does do, is teach boys to be helpful and active in their communities. Last time I checked society needed that. Most importantly, it teaches them to be respectful of other people. And I believe that given that ground work, they will come to their own understanding and acceptance of us.

Katrina

Go on girl!

Girl, you livin' in style! What we need is a good organization to allow us TS/TV to meet one another (maybe even a dating service!). That's my tip o' the day. Ta-ta.

I love the new page. It's cool (and your pic is stunning).

Dear Cindy:

Just think that your home page is wonderful.

Anyway, am enjoying all of the resources that you provide to all of us. Also, had to mention that the people at Piedmont on Haight in SF are absolutely wonderful and supportive to our community.

Hugggg,
