- Q: The selected items are always installed into C:\INetSDK no matter what destination folder is specified.
- A: Fixed
- Q: I get a dialog box that says headgrph.htm could not be opened.
- A: Fixed
- Q: Are the URLs on entry.htm suppose to be working now.
- A: No, they aren't live until we release.
- Q: On IE3.02, are download areas description suppose to be expanded by default.
- A: Yes, it is a browser version limitation.
- Q: When I selected an item in my first download, I got "Common Components Documentation" and "Common Components Technology" too. Later I was able to download other components without this.
- A: This is by design, your first download grabs two cabs that has things in that every SDK component will need. In later downloads, the engine sees that you already have these, and doesn't download them again. If you need to reinstall the common components, delete all of your installed SDK files.
- Q: The estimated download times are quite long, they're based on 28.8 modem, but you don't know this until explained on the last page.
- A: I will look at fixing this.
- Q: The "InstallNow" buttons are too small.
- A: I will look at fixing this.
- Q: The "InstallNow" button is unintuitive as a button.
- A: I will look at fixing this.
- Q: When browsing destination directory, you can't double-click a folder.
- A: That's in our control. I will make this a beta2 item.
- Q: I get an awful lot of security dialog boxes, is there anyway to minimize these.
- A: Not now, this is an IE4 beta 2 work item.
- Q: Sometimes, the Finishd Downloading page says there was an error downloading the SDK even though the previous dialog says that the selected components were successfully downloaded and the stuf was installed.
- A: If you can repro this, come get me.
- Q: No program group for the SDK is created.
- A: Beta2 item.
- Q: If I install, then delete my files, and then try to install again, the page shows these are already installed.
- A: A limitation that we'll have to live with until we have an uninstall. The engine is checking registry entries rather than content on the harddrive.
- Q: The downloading dialog for the progress bar says "Internet Explorer Add-On Setup" Shouldn't it say Internet Client SDK?
- A: It should, but I think that code is in the ActiveSetup control, and I don't want to take new code at this time. Beta2 item.
- Q: CABs need signing.
- A: As soon as they work, we'll sign them .
- Q: Need more meat in the description of the different downloadables.
- A: I strongly agree, but probably don't have time to address myself. If anyone feels they know the SDK well enough to contribute text to this, please help. Write it so it's cut and paste for me, and I will try and get these in.
- Q: I get certificates for the ActiveSetup engine on return visits to the site.
- A: Yeah, I'm scratching my head over that too. But if it works, it's a beta2 item for me.
- Q: Download Time estimates are jumping all over.
- A: I think this is ActiveSetup control wierdness, we'll have to work that out with them after this release.
