You can use the options in the General property sheet to set expiration policies for newsgroups. These policies specify the article age and directory size limits for newsgroups and specify the newsgroups to which the policy applies.

Option | Description |
Policy name | The name of this policy. |
Affected newsgroups | A list of the newsgroups to which this policy applies. The asterisk (*) wildcard character specifies multiple newsgroups. For example, rec.* denotes and includes all newsgroups starting with "rec." |
Newsgroup | The name of a newsgroup being added. Type the name of a newsgroup and choose Add. Use the asterisk (*) wildcard character to specify multiple newsgroups. |
Articles older than | Removes articles older than a specified number of days withing the range of 1 to 32,000 days. The default is 7 days. |
Combined group size | Removes the oldest news articles when the size of one or more newsgroups exceeds a specified limit within the range of 1 to 32,000 MB. The default is 500 MB. |
Both | Enables both the Articles older than and Combined group size options. |
