Command Line Utilities

Microsoft® Certificate Server provides the following command line utilities:

• CertHier is used to complete installation of a Certificate Authority (CA) hierarchy. For more information, see Installing a Certificate Authority Hierarchy and CertHier.
  
  
• CertReq is used to submit certificate requests to Certificate Server. For more information, see Creating and Submitting a Certificate Request and CertReq.
  
  
• CertUtil is used to resubmit pending requests, revoke certificates (more easily accomplished from the Certificate Log Utility), publish certificate revocation lists, retrieve the CA certificates, and perform a variety of other tasks.
