Documentation Updates

This section shows which topics have been updated as opposed to the addition of new topics. (New topics are covered in Release Notes - What's New.) Both the updates and the new topics were added since the Microsoft SDK for Java 3.2 release on 3/18/99. The updates are as follows:

Programmer's Guide

• Added two profiler initialization options in the Profiler Programmer's Guide:

  JVM_INIT_OPT_DONT_NEED_ALLOCATION_CALLBACK
  JVM_INIT_OPT_DONT_NEED_ALLOCATION_COUNTS

• Added a topic dealing with dcomcnfg.exe in the Debugger Programmer's Guide.
  
  
• Added detail to the GCNewHandle and GCFreeHandle method descriptions in Protecting Objects in Allocated Memory.
  
  
• Made Integrating JavaBeans and ActiveX a section of Integrating Java and COM.
  
  
• Added detail to Custom Marshaling Structures and Parameters.

Tools Reference

• Revised documentation for the makecert, cert2spc, and certmgr tools.
  
  
• Added documentation for the makectl tool.
  
  
• Added new options to Jexegen: /special:tlb[-], /special:pe[-], and /special:all [-].
  
  
• Added new options to jntsvc: /hookdll:hookdllname and /w.
  
  
• Added new options to jactivex: /ao[+|-], /G4, /G5, /is[+|-], and /udi[+|-].

Microsoft Packages Reference

• Removed the WFC Reference node and moved the WFC packages to the Microsoft Packages Reference.
  
  
• Updated the com.ms.xml.dso, com.ms.xml.om, com.ms.xml.parser, and com.ms.xml.util packages to version 1.8.
  
  
• Fixed documentation of various classes in the com.ms.util package.
  
  
• Made the com.ms.wfc.data package part of the Microsoft Packages Reference.

Raw Native Interface Reference

• Fixed the description of the FindClass RNI function.
  
  
• Updated the following RNI functions:

  PrepareThreadForJava

Invocation Interfaces Reference

• Revised and corrected the Invocation Interfaces Reference

Compiler Directives Reference

• Completely revised the Compiler Directives Reference, and made the Attributes Reference a section of it.

Integration Technologies

• Reformatted the com.ms.asp and com.ms.iis.asp package references and added links.
  
  
• Added the Microsoft® Visual Basic® Object Model.
