Board of Directors | |
The business of the University of Kentucky Alumni Association is conducted by a board of directors. The Board consists of 57 elected members representing 16 geographic districts throughout the United States, 32 past national presidents and 21 other appointed, voting members. The Board is organized into a committee structure that develops operating policies and guidelines for the Association. Each district has three elected representatives, with the exception of Jefferson/Oldham Counties with six and Fayette County with nine. Members serve three-year terms and may be elected for two consecutive terms before waiting one year to be considered for additional terms. Elected members, except those from out-of-state, are expected to attend at least two of the four regular board meetings each year. Alumni with at least 12 semester hours of UK credit are eligible for nomination as candidates in the annual election. The Boards Nominating Committee selects the slate of candidates. This process occurs from February 1 through the Boards Summer Workshop in June.
Clubs Reach Out to Local Level
The 66 Alumni Association clubs in Kentucky and throughout the country feature a wide variety of activities for the enjoyment of members. The gatherings make it possible for alumni to network with people in their own geographic areas several times a year. Approximately 300 events attract an estimated 6,000 people to club activities each year.
