SWiSHmax is a quick and easy way to create Flash animations for your Web site. It is an advanced version of SWiSH 2, previously included on the Internet Magazine cover CD. SWiSH exports the same SWF format used by Macromedia Flash, so most Web users will be able to see your animation without downloading a plug-in.

The GIMP (GNU Image Manipulation Program) is a freely distributed piece of software (the source code is included on this CD) suitable for such tasks as photo retouching and image creation and manipulation. Though not touted as a 'Photoshop killer', The GIMP nevertheless has many capabilities. It can be used as a simple paint program, a photo retouching program, an online batch processing system, a mass production image renderer, an image format converter, etc.
The GIMP is extremely expandable and extensible. It is designed to be augmented with plugins and extensions to do just about anything. The advanced scripting interface allows everything from the simplest task to the most complex image manipulation procedures to be easily scripted. The GIMP is written and developed under X11 on UNIX platforms. Its memory managent system means image size is limited only by available disk space.
Some other features include: sub-pixel sampling for all paint tools for high quality anti-aliasing; full alpha channel support; layers; a Procedural Database for calling internal GIMP functions from external programs; multiple Undo/Redo (limited only by diskspace); load and save animations in a convenient frame-as-layer format.
