I think that my Defensive strategy is unbeatable unless you are playing against someone else using the same strategy otherwise you will be unbeatable. If you do encounter someone using this same strategy then the key for you is to have more than one town that makes it more difficult for them to defend against two towns. The main theory of my strategy is that if your opponent sends most of his men at you in an all out attack your defence will be strong enough to kill all his attackers and then raid his town. To set up a defence this strong you will need LOTS of peasants. You will find out why peasants are essential to my counter attacking in my Counter Attacking section. First make as many peasants as you can and a few men for defence (footmen at this point) and once you have blacksmith, lumber mill,etc..then build towers here is a picture of a good Defence I have set up after I have made a good amount of archerspicture1. As you can see if someone comes through that pass they wont make it far and if they do your footmen will slaughter them while your archers unleash their arrows on them. You always want to keep your archers fully upgraded or they wont get the job done. Also keep them behind your footmen but in front of your knights..bring your knights out ONLY after your footmen are destroyed because your knights are to valuable to lose. This is the heart of my Defensive strategy as you see in this pictureyou have a secondary defense line (this is essntial) if you dont have this line and they bust through your first line you can kiss your town goodbye. It is always a good idea to keep some footmen set aside so that if they roll in tons of catapults your footmen can rush in and take em out (dont move your catapults you cant afford to lose them).
No strategy can beat a good counter attack. If your defence is set up like I tell you to and you have a few men set aside (demolition men included) you will have enough men to counter attack their town. When counter attacking always have in your mind that you WILL win because you probably will but dont counter attack unless they make a foolish move like making an all out assault on you,moving most of their men to another town, or putting all their men on transports (that is always dumb). When you start your counter attack always have your peasants come with that is the heart of this attacking strategy. First send your demolition men to take out andy Walls/Towers they have. Next send the Mages to use their Blizzard to really knock em down a knotch (if you are Orcs use the Decay spell its the best)..then come the footmen acompanied by the archers. Once they start in the fight send everyone of your peasants and make all towers except have a peasant make a barracks just outside of their town. Now bring in the calvalry and the air and catapult units. Now you have the game even if they have another town because here you can start a new town while building up your other one.This pictureshows me counter attacking the computer after it had attacked me.Here is a good picture of me setting up a defence outside my town.
Controlling the high seas is the hardest part of this game. Defending against sea maurders is hard to do but when on land have cannon towers and catapults on the shore. Then have archers as in this picture defending also. When guarding your port do as in this picture shows. You always want submarines the most they cant be seen Most of the time and it is very frustrating for the other player.
Zepplins and Juggernauts go hand in hand. If you got someone useing those pesky subs just send a air unit and a battleship out there and kill em with one shot. Also when sending transports be sure to make them invisible! That really throws your opponent off when a load of demolition men suddenly are in their town.
Can be good or bad depending on how well you can use them. They are far better when you have about six to nine. Watch out for those archers though.
These are perhaps the most important tools in your army. Once you know where your opponents are you can prepare for their attacks faster. Also use these around your sea ports just in case of enemy subs. If you have these puppies in the sky there is no hiding place for the enemy. To protect yourself from being spoted by Zeps have lots of archers and Guard towers around the border of your city and a few Guard towers inside just in case they get by they will finish them off.
Mages can be very useful if used properly, if not used properly they are just a waste of time and money. You have to have protection for your Mages when sending them into battle. NEVER I REPEAT NEVER send them alone. A good spell to use is the flame shield. Put that on a few knights and ride them right up the center of the battle or use it to protect a fellow Mage in trouble. When attacking a town it is a good idea to send at least 2 Mages in there to use the blizzard spell. First send a peasant in to draw them out then let the blizzard destroy them all. Only use polymorph on ogres (Man I hate those things). Here is a good picture of me drawing them out and then demolishing them.
These are some Bad Mother F*@#$%@! Once you got a few of these puppies and you know how to use em you will become god himself. When faced with hordes of humans coming at you please dont use whirlwind use the decay spell. That knockes em over in nothin flat. These are a must have for you Orc lovers. Dont even bother with those stupid spells I only recommend the decay and whirlwind spell (decay is much more effective). If you are using the "every little thing she does cheat" use the death coil on any guy coming close to you. Also these foul creatures can see those pesky invisible humans.
If used right these little hell bringers can change the course of the battle in your favor. These are my favorite guys when counter attacking. Use these guys just before making your strike. It is best to use these men in a mass formation, because they are so weak when there are more you have a better chance of breaking their lines. Try to take out any towers first then go for the heart of their army (the barracks) it takes about two or three to take them out. Also if you are using them defensively try to take out any OGRES, KNIGHTS, MAGES, and CATAPULTS. Dont waste them on footmen or archers.
When upgrading these holy knights please dont waste your money on the exorcism spell because that is STUPID!. Only use the healing spell. On the battlefield it is a must to have some paladins around to heal your men. How in the world will anyone stop you if your men have full energy the whole time? THEY CANT! wake up world. Do you see the light? P A L A D I N S are U S E F U L. Hey mommy I can read!
Only need em for the RUNES spell which is a must for Orc defence. If you dont use this against a strong opponent you have no brain. Place the Runes in areas you wont go through soon so you dont blow up your own men. Also put them in areas such as narrow passes through the woods. And lay them in a line in from of your town so that nothing can get by.
