H�ylandet is centrally positioned in Namdalen. In addition to the Coastal Route going north or south, you can head eastwards to Grong or westwards along the RV776 to Salsbruket, and onwards to Ytre-Namdal.

The land of the revue
The municipality of H�ylandet is best known for its revue festival which attracts hundreds of revue fans every time it is held - the next time will be in 1999.

We recommend a visit to the Revue Experience Centre, where exhibitions and performances of star numbers give you the opportunity to learn more about the history of the Norwegian revue - plenty of crazy fun for adults and children alike. A guest house and the local tourist information office are also located at the centre.

H�ylandet has a number of other attractions. H�ylandet church at Romstad (1860) is worth a visit. The waterfall Gongstadfossen with its 75-metre drop is not far from the H�ylandet town centre, where you can also see the special bridge of Hammerbrua.

For people who want to try their luck fishing in rivers or mountain lakes, this area has a lot to offer. Fishing licenses can be bought at the Tourist Information Office.
