Generelle sp�rgsm�l

  1. Er det muligt at k�re programet fra DOS?

    Nej, programmet skal installeres og k�res fra Microsoft Windows 3.1x eller Windows 95(TM).
  2. Sk�rmbilledet er forvr�nget, specielt n�r der vises animationer.

    Check sk�rmdriveren. Sk�rmdriveren er et specielt program, som Windows bruger til at fort�lle grafikkortet, hvordan grafikken skal vises. Du har m�ske brug for en opdateret version, som du normalt kan f� gratis hos producenten. Kontakt enten producenten af din computer eller af dit grafikkort for at h�re, hvordan du kan f� en opdateret version.

  3. Lyden i spillet er ikke god eller kan slet ikke h�res.

    Se f�rst efter, om h�jttalerne eller hovedtelefonerne er ordentligt forbundet. Hvis dette er tilf�ldet, kan du unders�ge, om du kan (af)spille anden lyd fra Windows. Det kan du g�re ved at afspille lydfiler med filtypen .WAV fra Windows’ Lyd kontrolpanel.

    Hvis du slet ikke kan h�re nogen lyd, kan du unders�ge, om lydkortets drivere er korrekt installeret. Under Windows 3.1x skal lavniveau-driverne indl�ses fra DOS f�r Windows kan indl�se h�jniveau-driverne under opstarten. Den kan blive n�dvendigt at geninstallere lydkortets drivere. Kontakt enten producenten af din computer eller af dit lydkort for at h�re, hvordan du skal b�re dig ad. Alternativt kan det v�re n�dvendigt at f� en opdateret version af lydkortets driveres. Igen, kontakt enten producenten af din computer eller af dit lydkort for at f� nye versioner.

  4. Der kommer en fejlmeddelelse umiddelbart efter opstart af programmet.

    Selvom du m�ske allerede har k�rt installationsprogrammet til spillet, skal CD-ROM’en stadig v�re i drevet for at kunne spille. Se efter, at CD-ROM’en er korrekt placeret i drevet, f�r du starter spillet.

  5. Der dukker fejlmeddelelser op, mens du spiller.

    Da programmet stadig har brug for at kunne f� adgang til filer p� CD-ROM’en selv efter, at installationen har fundet sted, er det muligt, at programmet pr�ver at f� adgang til CD-ROM’en, men at denne ikke er i drevet. CD-ROM’en skal altid v�re i drevet, n�r du spiller. Det er ogs� muligt, at CD-ROM’en allerede er i drevet, men at den ikke ligger korrekt. Pr�v at skubbe den ud og l�g den i igen og pr�v s� at lukke CD-drevet igen og forts�t med programmet.

  6. Findes der en version af spillet p� disketter?

    Nej, det findes i �jeblikket kun p� CD-ROM. Det ville kr�ve mere end 400 disketter, hvis der skulle v�re plads til al programdata.

  7. Det er vanskeligt at flytte mark�ren hen over sk�rmen eller sk�rmen flimrer n�r mark�ren bev�ges.

    Hvis det er sv�rt at f� mark�ren til at bev�ge sig, kan det skyldes, at dit pegeredskab (f.eks. mus, trackball, trackpad) har brug for at blive renset - check producentens retningslinjer for anbefalet reng�ring af redskabet. Du beh�ver m�ske ogs� at justere enten mark�rhastighed eller mark�rf�lsomheden. Dette kan g�res ved enten at k�re et specialprogram, som blev installeret sammen med enhedsdriveren eller gennem Kontrolpanel - se i manualen til din mus, hvilken metode, der er den foretrukne. Hvis sk�rmen flimrer, n�r mark�ren bev�ges ("musespor"), kan det v�re n�dvendig at opgradere enten sk�rmdriveren og/eller musedriveren - kontakt den relevante producent for at h�re, om du kan f� opdaterede drivere.

  8. Fejlmeddelelsen "Ikke nok hukommelse" dukker op under opstart.

    Denne fejlmeddelelse dukker nok op j�vnligt, hvis du k�rer programmet under Windows 3.1x (du vil sandsynligvis ikke se denne fejlbesked i Windows 95). Hvis du er sikker p�, at du har nok hukommelse til at kunne k�re programmet, skal du s�rge for, at der ikke er andre programmer �bne, n�r du fors�ger at k�re programmet. Ofte startes forskellige programmer automatisk op, n�r Windows startes. Mange af disse programmer er hj�lpeprogrammer, som ikke er n�dvendige for at k�re Windows eller selve spillet. For at se om dette er tilf�ldet, skal du trykke p� Ctrl + Esc for at f� Joblisten frem. Hvis der er andet p� listen end Programstyring, skal du markere hver eneste ved at klikke p� dem �n ad gangen og s� klikke p� Afslut job for at lukke for programmet. Afslut ikke Programstyring, da dette element er n�dvendigt for at kunne k�re Windows.

    (Hvis du har Windows 95, s� tryk p� Ctrl + Alt + Del for at f� Luk program-vinduet frem. Marker hvert program og klik p� Afslut job for at lukke programmet. Klik ikke p� knappen Luk, da dette vil lukke Windows helt ned. Klik heller ikke p� Afslut job for Explorer eller Systray, da disse elementer er specielle operativprogrammer, som er n�dvendige for at kunne k�re Windows 95).

    En anden grund til denne fejlmeddelelse er, at dit Windows 3.1x-system har nok "almindelig" hukommelse, men ikke nok "konventionel" hukommelse. Lige meget hvor meget RAM din maskine f�r lagt ind, er der aldrig mere end 640KB konventionel hukommelse. Uheldigvis beh�ver ikke kun ethvert program, som k�rer under Windows 3.1x en bid af denne hukommelse, men ogs� andre Windows-elementer, s�som en font. Hvis denne fejlmeddelelse dukker j�vnligt op, b�r du unders�ge, hvor meget konventionel hukommelse, der er tilg�ngelig, f�r du starter Windows, og hvor meget, der er tilg�ngelig, efter Windows er startet. Windows 95 har normalt ikke dette problem.

  9. Kan programmet k�res med en anden opl�sning end 640 x 480 eller med flere eller f�rre end 256 farver?

    Ja, men dette kan ikke anbefales. En opl�sning p� 640 x 480 med 256 farver er minimum for Super VGA og er den standard, som spillet blev designet til. Hvis programmet ikke kan �ndre ops�tningen til 640 x 480 under opstarten, vil det pr�ve at k�re i et vindue i midten af sk�rmen. Men, "spilleevnen" er meget st�rre, hvis sk�rmen indstilles til ovenn�vnte opl�sning, f�r man starter. Programmet vil ligeledes kunne k�re, hvis du bruger f�rre eller flere end 256 farver, men hvis du bruger f�rre, vil sk�rmkvaliteten v�re d�rlig, og hvis du bruger flere, vil spillets performance lide, da det vil blive langsommere.

  10. Der er en Online menu i menulinjen; skal jeg bruge et modem for at kunne spille dette spil?

    Nej, et modem er valgfrit. Hvis du har et modem og en Web-browser, kan du bruge det inde fra spillet af, til at bes�ge Wanderlust Interactive’s hjemmeside p� World Wide Web. Du kan ogs� g� til de sider, som giver tips til, hvordan du spiller spillet, eller til et sted, hvor du kan skrive dit navn, n�r du har fuldendt spillet.


Installations sp�rgsm�l

Before installing the program, remember to first close any other applications you may have running in the background that are not essential to your computer's basic operation. This would especially include any type of screen saver or anti - virus software that may be installed. Check for applications running in the background in Windows 3.1x's Task List (press Control - Escape to view) or Windows 95's Close Program window (press Control - Alt - Delete); highlight the unnecessary program(s) by clicking on its name, then clicking the End Task button (if you're running Windows 3.1x, don't end task on Program Manager, as this is needed for Windows to run; in Windows 95, don't End Task on The Explorer or Systray for the same reason — also, don't click Shut Down as this will exit Windows 95 altogether). Some software may require you to restart Windows (if not the computer itself) for it to be truly disabled; if this is the case, or you are not sure how to disable such software, please contact that company's technical support.

  1. Please make sure all hardware and software meets (if not exceeds) the minimum system requirements for this product. Our requirements may be found on the package, in the user manual and in this product’s READ ME file. If you are not sure about your system, check with the company that manufactured or sold it to you.
  2. The installer checks to make sure that your system is able to run the game as it is currently configured. Therefore, you may want to check that you are running the proper display setting (at least 640 x 480 with no less than 256 colors) and your sound card’s drivers are installed and active (if you heard a sound play when Windows started, then you’re probably OK here).
  3. Prior to installing the program, we recommend checking the READ ME file on the CD; it is also installed in this product’s Program Group (if possible, you may want to print it to refer to during installation; this file contains information on the product that was unavailable at the time this user manual was written).
  4. This installer creates a directory on your hard drive into which it will copy some of the files needed to run the program on your system. If you are not sure about the name or location of this directory, choose the default selection recommended by the installer.
  5. If you are installing this program under Windows 3.1x, Windows needs to run in Enhanced Mode for both the installer and the program to function properly. Most ‘486 or better computers usually start Windows in this mode automatically; if you’re not sure, please check before installing the program —this can easily be done by pulling down the Help menu in Program Manager and selecting the last menu item, About Program Manager. In the box that appears, it will tell you if you are running in Enhanced or Standard Mode; if for some reason it says Standard Mode, exit Windows and restart it by typing win /3 at the command prompt (this will force Windows to start in Enhanced Mode).

Flere tips til probleml�sning


The READ ME file that our program installed contains some troubleshooting information; users may want to review it before contacting Customer Support. This page, however, contains information on compatibility and configuration problems that were found too late in product testing to be included in the READ ME file; please check it to see if it covers any problems you are experiencing.

Orchid Kelvin64: If you are using this video card under Windows 3.1x, please be aware that driver version # 1.2 is incompatible with the Microsoft WinG graphics accelerator installed by our program; an upgrade to version # 1.4 or later fixes the problem.

Hercules Terminator Professional & 64/Video: updated Windows 95 driver 4.53a offers improved video playback and bug fixes.

Microsolutions Backpack CD - ROM drives: 16 - bit Windows users should upgrade to driver version # 2.08 (released 8/15/96) or later to improve performance; this driver can only be used on the models 163550, 164550, 165550 and 166550. If users have a different model CD - ROM drive from Microsolutions, they should check their Web site (www.micro-solutions.com) or technical support for a different update. Also, Windows '95 users can get a driver released 9/5/96 (it will not work on the model 160550 or 126550); due to the fact that the driver was released simultaneous to our product, we did not perform extensive testing - however, performance should significantly improve over the 16 - bit legacy drivers loading from DOS.

Win32s: some Windows 3.1x users may get an error message indicating a problem with the Win32s library our program installs; one such message may say, "Cannot load driver: w32s.386 (2Dh). File with the same ID already loaded". Usually, such error messages display upon restarting Windows after installing our product; the reason for this is duplicate lines in your SYSTEM.INI file trying to load the same driver. To fix this problem, edit your SYSTEM.INI file by placing a semi - colon at the beginning of one of the lines trying to load w32s.386; this will disable that line. When next launching Windows, that error message should no longer appear.

System Error Messages on CD Ejection: certain users may encounter a problem when the program tries to read data from the CD - ROM and the game disc is not in the drive; in some cases, this may be fixed with an updated CD - ROM driver, however, it is most likely due to the way our program retrieves data from the disc in a steady stream in an effort to optimize performance. As a result, there is no recovery for this problem; users are advised to keep the disc in the drive at all times during game play.

Some popular ones are listed below: Many problems can be solved by simply updating drivers used by the devices on your computer (a driver is a special piece of software that tells your computer how to run parts of the hardware inside). Just because something is relatively new, that doesn't mean you already have the most recent driver -- it is not uncommon for some hardware manufacturers to update their drivers as often as three or four times a year.
