Stay and Residence in Denmark

Travellers not requiring a visa may stay in Denmark only 3 months counted from the date of arrival in any of the Nordic countries within a 6-month period. Applications for a prolonged stay will normally not be complied with. In special cases, however, a short prolongation may be granted.

Apply to the Directorate for Aliens or the local police not later than 15 days before the expiry of the 3-month period.

Residence and work permits:

EU nationals, including British nationals, who wish to remain longer than 3 months in Denmark can apply for a residence permit after arrival.
