PageStream gives you a blank page on which to mix text and graphics to create a finished page design. Text and graphics can be imported from other sources or created directly in PageStream and then arranged on the page.

The PageStream3 Publishing System consists of two components: a page layout program and an image processor. PageStream3 for Amiga also includes PageLiner, a text article editor, because AmigaOS does not include a suitable text editor.

PageStream allows you to combine text and graphics without restrictions. It has a What-You-See-Is-What-You-Get, or WYSIWYG display, so that you will know what your document will look like before it is printed.

Image Editor: BME

BME is a picture editing tool that allows you to crop, clean up and manipulate bitmap pictures. PageStream cannot make pixel level changes to a bitmap picture because it works with objects, not pixels. BME gives you pixel editing capabilities.

Article Editor: PageLiner (Amiga)

PageLiner is a text processing tool that can be used independently or in conjunction with PageStream. Text editing can sometimes be slow in a page layout program, especially if you have a slow processor such as a 68020. PageLiner allows you to edit text more quickly because it does not maintain a WYSIWYG display.

To edit the text of a PageStream article in PageLiner, select the text to edit, or place the insertion point in the article, and then choose Send to Editor from PageStream's Edit menu. When you are done, save your work in PageLiner and either close the article window or choose Quit from PageLiner's Project menu.

Macintosh users can edit text articles with SimpleText, which is included with MacOS. Windows users can use WordPad, which is included with Windows.
