Bugs, problems, suggestions and comments
Please report any bugs, problems you encounter in using EnTray, suggestions for improvement to me at aksr@hotmail.com.
Known issues and problems you may encounter :
1. Cannot drag system objects to the drag-n-drop window. I would like to explain this away the Microsoft way - this behavior is by design ! Actually, I am facing technical problems implementing this.
2. If you attempt to drag a drive (such as A:\, C:\ etc) from the My Computer folder, the drag-n-drop icon shows a shortcut being dragged unlike other drag-n-drops to EnTray. However, once dropped, the behavior is the same as any other object; only the visual effect is different.
3. If an object has been added to EnTray, and the object has been subsequently deleted from your machine without removing it from EnTray, EnTray will not automatically remove such icons. Instead, a default icon is shown in place of the deleted item the next time EnTray is started; also nothing happens when you click it. You will manually need to remove the item entry from EnTray. Here, I would like to more confidently add, that this behavior is indeed by design <g>.
4. After a maximize or a minimize, the order of applications in your taskbar (not in the tray) may get changed. This is an implementation problem and is a result of stuff that I am doing to ensure that maximize ad minimize happen fast enough.
5. The Rename button is sometimes disabled in the drag-n-drop window. This is again by design. Rename is enabled only when one item is selected in the drag-n-drop window. If you haven't selected any item or have selected more than one item, Rename is disabled.
6. The "Hide Entray icon" menu item available on right clicking on an Entray icon is sometimes disabled. Again by design. If you do not have any objects in EnTray, then the Entray icon itself cannot be hidden (since Entray cannot be accessed at all after this). For the same reason, if you have already hidden the Entray icon, you can delete all but (any) one object in EnTray; at least one object must remain, so that you can continue to access Entray.
7. Help does not come up on clicking on the "Help" menu item in EnTray. Check and ensure that the Help files (*.htm) shipped with EnTray are in the same directory as EnTray.EXE.
8. If you attempt to drag-n-drop the drive name of a removable drive (such as A:) onto the EnTray drag-n-drop window, you will get an error if no diskette is currently in the drive. This is because EnTray verifies that it can open each object that you add to it during the drag-n-drop operation. Make sure you add (any) diskette in the drive before you drag-n-drop a removable drive.
